Redwell Sponsors the Macmillan Cancer Support Ball

The Discovery Fundraising Group is hosting its Grand Easter Ball this April at Dundee's Apex Hotel. All proceeds from the event are going towards Macmillan Cancer Support and we wanted to show our support for the work the charity does to help millions of people across the UK.

Macmillan's philosophy is that nobody should face cancer alone. For anyone unfamiliar with the organisation and what it does, Macmillan helps both patients and carers with every aspect of their fight against cancer, using the donations it receives to fund nurses and other medical professionals or just help with the little struggles that form part of daily life living with the illness: money worries, a lift to the hospital, time off for a caregiver - even household chores.

Around 98% of Macmillan's income comes from donations - a good chunk of which are sourced from charity events like marathons. jumble sales and balls. These kind of events are hugely important to the organisation  - not to mention great fun - so when we saw an opportunity to get involved in one right on our doorstep, we jumped at the chance!

The inaugural Discovery Grand Easter Ball takes place at the Apex Hotel in Dundee, on the 24th April. The event involves an extravagant gala dinner followed by an auction and music 'til late from The Stingrays band. To show our support, Redwell is donating a hefty energy efficient item to the auction: a glass finished or mirrored (your choice) R800 infrared heating panel, along with a controller and full installation service - a combined value of over £1000!

A heating system might seem like an unusual offering for an auction but if you're the winning bidder, there's no need to start refurbishing your house: infrared panels don't require any work with plumbing, gas lines or any of the annoying issues associated with traditional systems. Simply choose a place to install the infrared heater (it's a flat panel so a wall or even a ceiling will work) and let us do the rest. The winning bidder will also receive the benefit of a trained Redwell installer to carry out the work. Redwell infrared heating panels are the complete package just attach, plug in and enjoy the warmth.

If you miss out on our infrared panel, don't worry, there will be plenty of extravagant items on offer throughout the auction which is hosted by radio presenter, TV personality and able compere, Ally Bally. The auction and dinner certainly aren't the only reason to attend the Grand Easter Ball, in fact, the whole night promises extravagance from start to finish: you'll arrive to a red carpet welcome at the doors of the Apex Hotel, and finish by dancing the night away to the swing, rock and jazz melodies of the famous Stingrays.

50% of us will be affected by cancer at some point in our lives so any support we can give to Macmillan is valuable, be that through donations or by attending events like this. The Great Easter Ball is especially important to Redwell because it's a chance to make an impact at a local level and show how Dundee can be a part of the fight against the disease.

Tickets for the Grand Easter Ball cost £50 and all proceeds go to Macmillan Cancer Support. Come as an office, as a couple, in big groups or small groups, and dress smart doors open at 7:00pm and, given the packed schedule of food, fun, entertainment and music waiting for you, even if you're not planning to bid in the auction, the night should be a memorable one!

The Ball is a complete sell-out this year, which is a fantastic result for Macmillan Cancer Support. If you're going, we'll see you there from 7pm - if you're not, remember to book your tickets early next year!
